The one thing I can’t resist is pretty packaging or…
I go to a lot media events, and the ACI Beauty previews are hands-down my fave (next to Sephora holiday reveals, of course). If you’re not familiar with ACI, they own brands like bliss, Paul & Joe, Korres, Stila and Cargo Cosmetics. At this even, we got a sneak preview into what is coming this fall and over the holidays…. get excited!
Prices listed in Canadian dollars.
First I’ll start with bliss, a brand that I only really became familiar with this year. Their newest innovation comes in a small container that looks like yogurt! This rubberized masks starts as a powder that you add water to make a paste.
mask a-peel radiance revealing rubberizing mask
$38 / 3 mask kit (full size), $15 / 1 mask kit (mini size)
As it dries down, it forms almost a rubber putty (the consistency of Silly Putty). It peels off smoothly to reveal hydrated and glowing skin. I love this one!
We also got a look at some of the holiday sets! These will be available starting in October.
Zest Wishes contains a full-size of two of their lemon sage scented products, for $38.
Butter Not Pout ($40) has two of their amazing body butters in lemon sage and grapefruit aloe.
This ‘skin’credibles set is $54 has two of their most popular skincare products: a cleanser and a lightweight day cream.
Available in October, Cargo Cosmetics is releasing two different Eye Contour Eye Shadow Palettes ($39) and six new shades of their Gel Lip Colour ($22).
Did you know Cargo Cosmetics was Canadian? Yep, that’s right! And for their 20th anniversary this year, they are paying homage to this great city.
The Chill in the Six collection is limited edition and will be available next month:
– 4 x Swimmables Set ($37)
– Liquid Lipstick Trio ($35)
– Chill in the Six LE Eyeshadow Palette ($46)
Not only is this palette gorgeous, but it also has Canadian-inspired names like Ontario, Maple and Dundas St.
CLEAN fragrance has some great new products coming up for fall and holiday, all available next month too. The Black Leather one is my favourite.
CLEAN FOR MEN Black Leather EDT ($98)
Top Notes: Ozonic Marine, Bergamont, Black Peppercorn
Middle Notes: Juniper, Spearmint Leaf, Black Orchid
Base Notes: Musk, Black Leather, Amber
CLEAN FOR MEN White Vetiver EDT ($98)
– Top Notes: Sicilian Bergamot Zest, Blue Juniper Berries, Provence Bigarade
– Middle Notes: White Vetiver, Cotton Wood, Forest Moss, Amberwood
– Base Notes: Creamy Orris, Black Musk, Tonka Beans, Sandalwood
And for the holidays, they have some great value sets too.
CLEAN Perfumer’s Layering Collection has three of the best selling fragrances: Rain, Warm Cottom and Shower Fresh for $86.
The CLEAN Rollerball Layering Collection is only $28 and has some of my faves! Layering Skin and Rain together are an amazing combo.
There was a ton of new stuff from Korres like the Wild Rose Brightening Targeted Tone Corrector for Neck and Decollete ($65) which will really help any age spots or dark spots on my chest area. The Wild Rose collection has been around for 20 years and there’s a reason why. It not only smells amazing but it is one of the best brightening and tone correcting formulas on the market. I can’t wait to try the new Wild Rose Instant Brightening & Illuminating Mask ($60) too.
I was really intrigued by the Castanea Arcadia Collection which uses chestnuts. Apparently Korres is the first-ever brand to harness the power of the chestnut, a nut high in antioxidants.
Wrinkle Rewind Eye Cream – $60
Wrinkle Rewind Night Cream – $80
Wrinkle Rewind Day Cream – $65
And then there’s the Golden Krokus Ageless Saffron Elixir ($130). Yes, a hefty price tag but the local farmers in Greece who source the saffron can only pick it once a year. It reduces the look of fine lines and large pores, and you can even be mixed with foundation for a dewy look.
Korres has recently released an entire Black Pine line, which detoxifies a lot like charcoal. We got to play with the Detoxifying Mineral Bar ($38) and trust me when I say it smells amazing.
I had already seen a few sneaks of the PAUL & JOE Warner Bros. collection and to say I was excited is an understatement. I used to be obsessed with Tweety and now I need to own ALL OF THIS. The cardboard LE compacts are $8 and fit a powder blush or cream blush refill.
My faves are the Pressed Powder Compacts for $10 each. I honestly just want them both and may never fill them. There are also three Warner Bros (Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Tom & Jerry Looney Tunes) lipstick cases ($7) that you can fill with any Paul & Joe lip refill. These are available now at select Shoppers and online at Beauty Boutique.
Also available now is the “A Stroll in the Park in Paris Autumn Collection” which includes three lipstick cases ($7) and three new lip shades ($21 each) and three
Eye Trio pots ($26).
Yep, those are CATS! The Fall collection Cheek Color “balls” are $48 and come in Petit Promenade (pink) and Chill in the Air (peachy coral).
I know all you cat ladies can’t wait to get your hands on these. Well, they are in stock online now!
The Stila Fall Glam Rock Collection will be available mid-September and has a 70’s vibe. I’m most excited for these Stay All Day MATTE’ificent Lipsticks ($29) in 12 shades. These really glide on smooth because of their avocado oil base and are extremely pigmented. There are also eight new Stay All Day lip liners to match as well as a few Stay Day waterproof brow pens.
In October, the Stila Holiday 2016 collection will land and… you’re going to want to get everything. The cult favourite Stay All Day Liners will come in a trio of best sellers, “Morning to Moonlight” for $46.
And the Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks that we all love will come in two trios for $26 each.
Bright & Bold – Beso, Lume and Viola
Naturally Nude – Serenata, Patina and Perla
This highlight palette right here caused quite a commotion at the preview. Stila Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette is $51 and includes three large highlight/bronzers that are bouncy to the touch and really lightweight.
Palette includes three shades:
Transcendence – an opalescent pink for a bold, ethereal glow
Kitten – Stila’s iconic shimmering nude pink brightens and illuminates
Bronze – creates a radiant, sun-kissed glow
This photo taken with my phone does no justice to how beautiful these are. The pink is especially pretty as it has a slight cool blue shift to it.
Now I don’t use self tanning products, but I’ve heard St. Tropez is one of the best brands. The new St. Tropez Gradual Tan Classic Everyday Mousse ($38) will be available in September and takes a few days to gradually build up to a deep golden shade.
The formula is really thick and lathers up making it virtually streak free and easy to apply.
So there you have it, an hour in the life of a beauty blogger! What I love most about these events, other than the excitement of new releases, is catching up with some of my bloggers pals from the CBB.
