Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes Palette review

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes Palette review

I can’t even hide my excitement over the new Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes. I mean, as soon as I saw this palette in a press release, I stalked the Sephora site night and day until it was finally released. I only own one Benefit blush, Hervana, and it is one of my faves. So this Benefit blush wardrobe is not only an amazing collector’s piece for me but an entire blush wardrobe!

The packaging these blushes come in is a TIN. That’s right, not a plastic box, A FULL TIN SHAPED LIKE A HOUSE!

It is high quality and totally adorable. And actually really sturdy (especially since my only complaint on Benefit blushes is the unreliable box they come in).

Even the back has cute little design elements (and as you can see a sticker covering up the first listing, seems that Sugarbomb was originally a bit bigger in size at 0.28 oz, which is 0.07 oz more).

When you open up the box, you find a really neat pamphlet with some tips and tricks on how to wear these blushes either together or solo.

But as cute as this booklet was, I just kind of did my own thing.

It is about the size of my hand, making it not too clunky for storage purposes.

Clear plastic overlay showing what is what. Blushes are housed in sturdy cardboard that is fastened down pretty securely.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review comparison
SIZE: Next to full sized blush for size comparison. Each blush in this palette is 0.17 oz except for Sugarbomb which is 0.21 oz (and Watt’s Up which is .05 oz)

It comes with the standard Benefit blush kabuki brush with the wooden handle.

I believe this is the same size as with full-size blushes.

The finish and imprint is the same on all the blushes except Rockateur obviously does not have the overspray.

Now onto the blushes, please note that I tried my best to make sure the colours below represent how these look in real life, but monitor settings vary etc etc etc.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Dandelion blush
DANDELION – A pale-pink, pressed highlighting powder that transforms your complexion from dull to radiant.  (Full size is 0.25 oz)

Swept lightly on my cheeks, this gives me a slight glow. I didn’t find this particularly pigmented and it was a bit chalky. Reminds me of The Balm Down Boy.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Bella Bamba blush
BELLABAMBA – a 3D watermelon-pink flush. This one has quite a bit of shimmer to it. (Full size is 0.28 oz)

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Bellabamba look
LOVE IT! Not sure what they mean by 3D but I quite like the results with Bellabamba, it is a nice hot pink that is buildable, although the shimmer did accentuate my pores a wee bit. Reminds me of NARS Orgasm.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Sugarbomb blush
SUGARBOMB – These four unique shades of rose, shimmering pink, soft plum, and peach blend together perfectly for a delicious “sugar rush flush.” (Full size is 0.42 oz)

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Sugarbomb look
This has some serious shimmer and leaves a peachy bronze on my skin tone. I actually quite like the shade, it is like wearing a peach shimmer blush and a bronzer. Reminds me of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Hoola bronzer
HOOLA – Sweep Hoola across the chin, cheeks, and forehead with the accompanying brush for a healthy, natural looking tan year-round— no tanning bed necessary. (Full size is 0.28 oz)

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Hoola bronzer look
Swept on corners of forehead, hollows of my cheeks and a bit of my chin. Leaves a slight orange tinge behind on my fair skin, but I know some people swear by this bronzer! Totally matte, no shimmer. Reminds me of Too Faced Chocolate Soleil.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Coralista blush
CORALISTA – A warm coral-pink powder that warms up your complexion. (Full size 0.42 oz)

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Coralista look
A gorgeous pinky peach shimmer blush that is subtle and buildable. Didn’t accentuate my pores too much and had great staying power. Reminds me of Clinique Peach Pop.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Rockateur blush
ROCKATEUR – A provocative rose gold cheek powder. (Full size is 0.17 oz, same as the size here).

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Rockateur look
The one thing about this blush is that it does not have the gold overspray as the regular blush, so it is more of a plum shade and not a rose gold. Not that I mind! It is quite pigmented and longwearing. Reminds me of a lighter version of Hourglass Mood Exposure.
Side note: I forgot I was wearing the Younique 3D mascara in this pic and wow, you can really see it here.

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Watts Up highlighter
WATT’S UP – A soft-focus highlighter for face. (Full size is 0.33 oz)

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Watts Up highlighter look
Wearing on the top of my cheekbones.  This is a gorgeous, long-lasting cream highlighter that isn’t too overpowering. A nice addition to this already amazing set. Reminds me of The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer (which is a powder but has the same look and shade).

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Dandelion Bellabamba Sugarbomb blush swatches

Dandelion, Bellabamba, Sugarbomb. (When swatched, Sugarbomb looks fairly similar to Coralista, although on the face it has many dimensions because of the 4-shade swirl)

Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O Blushes Palette review Hoola Coralista Rockateur Watts Up swatches
Hoola, Coralista, Rockateur, Watt’s Up (I have heard the Coralista in this set is lighter/peachier than the original box)

SUPERSTARS: Rockateur, Sugarbomb and Bellabamba. These are going to be my go-to blushes this Winter! (not to say I don’t love the others though).
THOUGHTS: If you don’t already own a few of these blushes, THEN GET THIS PALETTE! The value is insanely good considering a regular blush (0.17 oz to 0.42 oz) runs you $36 CAD, and this palette is only $9 CAD more… no brainer, right?

The Benefit Cosmetics Cheek Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes is available for a limited time, only $43 CAD at Sephora.com!
