If you’re looking for a less expensive alternative to MAC…
One of the first Charlotte Tilbury products that caught my attention was the Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher ($50 CAD). There was just something about the package and blush design that really stood out: the gorgeous compact, beautiful engraved lettering, the double circle blusher.
The SEX ON FIRE shade is one of 6, and probably the most neutral shade of all. It has a light neutral pink around the outside (Swish) and a darker almost mauve on the inside (Pop).
The formula has a semi-sheer lustre finish to it that doesn’t kick up a lot of dust. How it works:
• SWISH the brush around the outer shade and tap off the excess. Run the brush flat, up the cheek bone starting from the apple of the cheek, to structure the face.
• POP. Take the pointy end of the brush, dip it in the centre colour and tap off the excess. Apply to the apples of the cheeks to make them pop and glow. Blend seamlessly together.
Blush swatches are usually very difficult to photograph under studio light, but these show up really well! They lean a bit warmer when on the skin but I like that they aren’t too pink or red-toned.
You can see how big the compact is compared to my hands. Lots of product in here for a blush!
The result is a nice luminous finish that doesn’t accentuate pores. The only downside is that the wear time is less than average, I saw fading in about 4 hours. But note that I also have fairly oily skin which can affect wear time.
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish and Pop Blushers are available online now and at Holt’s Bloor in Toronto!
I’ll be at Holt’s for the Charlotte Tilbury meet and greet today, will I see you there?
