Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Honey review

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Honey review

I’ve tried beauty oil for my face, my body and my hair, but not until this year have I seen oil specifically made for lips (and I’m pretty excited about it).

The Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil is inspired by the amazing body and face oils that Clarins is famous for. And this little gem has already been awarded “One-Minute Miracle” by The Kit in the “Beauty Multi-Taskers” category.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil Honey 1

” A comforting oil that immediately soothes lips and nourishes them while leaving them beautifully shiny with natural-looking colour. Its rich texture develops a protective, non-sticky film on the surface of the lips. Protected from dehydration, lips are supple, soft and look plumper.”

The applicator is definitely unique, like a big soft paddle. It’s very different from those small doe foot applicators, meaning you can just swipe this across your lips once and go.

The shade I got, Honey, is a nearly clear oil with a non-sticky gel-like texture on contact. It’s not slippery like an oil and it feels like it is melting into my lips. There is also a tinted version, Raspberry, that I will probably pick up too.

This has a fairly thick, viscose feel to it. It fills in the lines on my lips and gets rid of that tight, dry feeling on contact.

What’s inside?

  • Hazelnut oil – nourishes, plumps and softens lips.
  • Organic jojoba oil – nourishes, smooths the skin without leaving a greasy effect.
  • Plum oil –  protects from dehydration, leaving the skin soft and silky.

It looks like a nice, shiny gloss and as it dries down throughout the day, you just press your lips together and it feels almost like it is reactivating. I love how it plumps my lips up and fills in those lips. It has also helped allevate a dry chapped area I was fighting under my bottom lip!

The Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil is $23 CAD available at and The in Canada.

  • B.

Interesting. I’m not sure how I feel about lip oils (despite not trying one yet) but I feel like they’re going to be one of 2015’s “it” things.

  • i really like this product lol. i love how large the applicator is and its so comfortable on the lips.

  • I want to try this so much! I love what you said about pressing your lips together feels like it’s reactivating! That reminded me of that lipstick back in the 90s (I’m pretty sure it was Revlon?) where you’d press your lips together to refresh your color! Do you remember that?! Good times!

    • Probably Revlon, yea. I also remember a Revlon lipstick that was like a creamy shadow you’d apply? So weird!

  • I am so eager to give these a go! The scent and texture sound heavenly. My lips have been uber dry this winter, which makes these extra appealing 🙂

  • i agree with everyone, love that adorable applicator and the product is so lovely! i’m pretty sad i “lost” some of mine!
