In an effort to wear more lipstick this year, I’ve…
With 8 new Clinique Cheek Pop blushes, it was hard for me to choose where to start. But, it may come as no surprise to you that I started with the most purple one: Pansy Pop.
PANSY POP ($24 CAD) is a cool-toned lilac purple, a very unique shade in my opinion since most blushes lean way more warm pink.
Like all other Cheek Pops and similar “pressed” powder blushes, this has a very light and subtle finish that is buildable. There is definitely a slight sheen to it that gives that natural inner glow. I call these kinds of blushes foolproof, because you can’t put on too much all at once and it really looks great on all skin types.
I’d say this level of colour was about two applications with a dense blush brush. What I love most about the colour is that it’s cool so it definitely cuts down on my existing redness and even cancels it out somewhat.
(Also wearing one of Clinique’s new Lip Pop lipsticks in Grape Pop, because ya know, all purple all day every day)
And since I have been wearing this shade daily, here’s another photo to show you the versatility. Wearing my palest shade of foundation and a similar cool-toned lilac lipstick (Bite Shade 005 review here), this gives off a somewhat ethereal quality and you can see how truly blue-based this purple is. In fact, Aaron even commented, “I like this look, it’s very X-Men”, whatever that means.
The top swatch was about 3 different swipes of my finger on the blush. Like I said, the colour payoff is subtle. If you’re looking for a natural glow and sheen, Clinique Cheek Pops are hands down your best bet. And at $24 CAD a pop (see what I did there?), you can’t really go wrong.
