I don’t know about where you live, but it has…
I can’t believe it, the DAVIDsTEA 24 Days of Tea calendar is still available to purchase! Last year I think it sold out in a few days. And I’ve been sipping my way through these teas as fast as I can to see which ones I want to purchase in full size before these seasonal treats disappear.
Aaah that feeling when you pull out the little cardboard drawer and find out what tea you’ll be surprised with.
Nutty and Spice
Low caffeine, Oolong
There is something so complex and lovely about this tea. The chicory root, which has a ton of health benefits, gives it a slightly bitter taste. Mix that with some dried fruits for sweetness and tang along with a variety of nuts and a hint of flower petals and this is the most diverse tea I have ever sipped! Think of it like a perfume with layers and layers of scents and flavours.
Ingredients: Oolong tea, roasted chicory root, pineapple (pineapple, sugar), papaya (papaya, sugar), cinnamon, walnuts, ginger, apple, rose pepper, roasted almonds (almonds, caramelized sugar), cardamom, almonds, pistachios, cranberries, rose blossoms, natural and artificial flavours.
Organic Ginger Pear
Low caffeine, White Tea
This will be my new go-to tea when I’m feeling nauseous, uneasy or ill. The ginger really helps calm my stomach and nerves while the other flavours tone down the spicy taste of the ginger.
Ingredients: Ginger, apple, cinnamon, white tea, pear, rosehip. With natural quince, pear, apple and cinnamon flavouring.
No caffeine, Herbal
One of my faves from last year, this tastes like trail mix! I love that this has a hint of beetroot to add some earthiness to the nutty and sweet flavours.
Ingredients: Apple, almonds, cinnamon, beetroot, artificial flavouring.
Low caffeine, Green
Although I could barely taste the passionfruit in here, I love the blend. Green tea on its own has a bitter nutty quality, but when you add the sweetness of pineapple and the fragrance of cornflower, calendula and safflower, you get a perfect mix.
Ingredients: Pineapple (pineapple, cane sugar, citric acid, sulfites), green tea, black currants, cornflower petals, calendula petals, safflowers, natural passion fruit flavouring.
Medium caffeine, Pu-erh
I tried this last year and liked it but didn’t love it. The stevia flavour is just too strong for me and the chocolate and black tea just overpower my tastebuds. It is good with some added milk though or a bit of whipped cream on top.
Ingredients: Pu’erh tea, black tea, cocoa nibs, chocolate chips (sugar, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, vanilla), chocolate curls (sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, chocolate liquor, whey powder, lactose, soy lecithin, vanilla), stevia extract, natural flavouring.
No caffeine, Herbal
Another favourite! This is tangy and floral, perfect mixed with a bit of hot wine (not even kidding) or even some whiskey. It’s really nice paired with a vanilla ice cream or on its own before bed. It’s subtle with a bit of a zing from the hibiscus.
Ingredients: Hibiscus, elderberries, rose hip shells, apple, papaya (papaya, sugar), lemon verbena, black currants, blueberries, strawberry leaves, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, morello cherries, natural red fruit flavouring.
