Sometimes you just need to add a little sparkle to your mani, am I right? And Essence now has a line of glitter toppers you can pick up for about $3 at Shoppers Drug Mart (in Canada) or Ulta (in the US).

Shown here over Essence’s If I Were a Boy nail polish (see review here), this one is a bit different than most glitter toppers. It changes when you shift your hand. Middle finger is 2 coats, ring finger has 1 coat. Reminds me of Indie Polish’s Sparkle Motion!

My thoughts: This one is gorgeous but it’s a bit hard to work with. I found it dried a bit too quick and became a little goopy as I was trying to place glitters. The final result is pretty wicked though! Stay tuned for another one of these Essence glitter toppers later in the week.

Have you tried any Essence nail art special effect toppers?

Your finger with the blue and glitter reminds me of a mermaid! Lol

  • Hmm it looks pretty but I really hate any glitter polishes that are hard to work with. I might have to pass on this one!

    • I’m trying the other topper tonight, hopefully with better results.

  • This one is a pretty topper. Not sure I’d wear it, but it’s a cool effect. Like how they’re branching out from just straight colours.

This looks like it would be a pain in the butt to use – but your photos are gorgeous!

  • I love glitters like this… but If it’s hard to work with, I will probably just use loose glitters instead!

  • Jayne

What a fun glitter! Too bad it was a little goopy 🙁

    • IT was just so hard to work with because the glitters are so thin!

  • It looks great with the blue!
I might pass on this one since I already have a few similar to this.

  • Oooooh opalescent glitters! Looks like fish scales…but such a pity it was so awkward to use. :/

I haven’t tried any Essence polishes, I really need to since practically everyone raves about them. Not a huge fan of glitter but this one is pretty!
