If you’ve stepped inside a Shoppers Drug Mart, PharmaPrix or…
Another day, another Fenty Beauty review, and trust me there will be more. I know you’ve seen Fenty Matchstix all over your feed this week, and today I’m bringing you two of the Shimmer Skinstick variations in Starstruck (which I got in my trio) and Unicorn.
If you haven’t tried one of the Match Stix yet, you’re definitely missing out. These come in two varieties: shimmer (like the ones here) and matte (which is more of a concealer or contour). The packaging has magnets inside so your stix actually “stick” together. A great feature for those of us with giant purses or bags who want to carry around a few of these.
And in more phenomenal design news, the lids of these twist-up sticks have a foam stopper so if you twist up too much it won’t ruin or damage your product!
The formula is a cream-to-powder finish that gives off a huge blinding highlight. These are a bit gritty though so I wouldn’t suggest swiping these directly on the skin or you’ll wipe the product off.
Above I’m wearing Unicorn dabbed on the lids and mixed with Starstruck on the tops of my cheekbones. I didn’t put primer on my lids this morning, and the shimmer has transferred a bit but not too bad considering.
Starstruck is a perfect pearl shade for cool-toned fair to medium skin. This is the grittier of the two so application takes some practice.
I’m wearing Starstruck here on top of Unicorn and worked upwards around the brow and side of my face. I used my fingers to apply which I have found is the best way for this product. If you look closely, you can see it has lifted my foundation a bit, but honestly all cream highlights and blushes do that on me.
I would love to hear your thoughts and application tips on this formula!
