A couple days ago, I did some quick swatches of…
Pur Cosmetics (aka as Pur Minerals) has really caught my eye lately. Better known for their loose mineral makeup, this brand has been killing it with new high-quality palettes and their latest innovation, Eye Polish.
I was sent a few things to try out, including their well-known mineral makeup, and here are my thoughts…
4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation in Porcelain ($32 CAD)
I am always hesitant when it comes to putting powder on my face, especially in colder months. But the Pur 4-in-1 powder is actually light and smooth enough that it doesn’t create dry, itchy patches and it looks natural. It has skincare mixed in and even protects your skin with its SPF15!
“Makeup, meet skincare. Our 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation gives you the flawless mineral coverage you expect from PÜR with groundbreaking skincare ingredients built into our award-winning formula. Our powder foundation is adored worldwide for its lightweight feel and no-mess, no-stress application. This all-in-one foundation, concealer, powder and SPF 15 has been clinically proven to correct, prevent and interrupt your biggest skin concerns—even after the makeup comes off.”
Chisel Mineral Makeup Brush ($26 CAD)
Made exclusively to work with the 4-in-1 powder, this is a soft yet stiff brush that works perfectly for swirling and buffing in powder foundation.
Epic Illusion Contour Palette ($32 CAD)
As the name suggests, this is truly an epic palette. It comes with two of each: blush, bronzer, highlight. But it’s so versatile you can use it on your eyes too!
The packaging is a really nice dotted line pattern that reminds me of Christmas lights.
For the amount of product you get, $32 is a steal! Plus, this is a true contouring palette with mostly matte powders.
Unreal – light beige neutral matte
Fable – medium neutral taupe matte
Bluff – midtone rosy pink matte
Legendary – pinky beige shimmer
Fiction – deep warm brown matte
Mauvelous – deep mauve rose matte
These swatch really beautifully. Typically blush or bronzer, especially in matte formulas, swatch dry, patchy or chalky. These are just gorgeous!
I decided to contour my eye area too, using Unreal all over as a base, Fable in the crease and Bluff on the lid.
I added a touch of dimension with Fiction in the outer V and added a bit of Legendary under my brow.
Double Ego Eyeliner ($23 CAD)
This double-ended eye pen has a thin felt-tip liquid liner on one side and a twist-up black smoky crayon on the other. I used the felt-tip for the look above and it’s smooth and glides on really well. And it stayed put all day!
Eye Polish in Silk ($32 CAD)
A foil finish, cream-to-powder formula that comes in a cushion-like dispenser. Included is a latex-free silicone applicator for precision… it’s pretty amazing.
Silk is descried as a prism copper that is opaque in one swipe. This leaves behind a shiny metallic look that lasts all day.
I applied silk over the look I showed you above and was able to quickly blend it out with my finger.
Application was easy using the silicone brush. I was even able to get a crisp line of liquid shadow above my liner without disrupting the line!
Volume Vixen Mascara ($23 CAD)
A 4-in-1 volumizing mascara with keratin that helps protect lashes from breakage while lengthening and adding some bold drama. I’d say this mascara is pretty darn good. It isn’t clumpy and adding a nice amount of length and volume. No flaking either.
Lip Lure in Belle ($26 CAD)
A creamy, hydrating and heavily pigmented lipstick cream in a twist-up “showerhead” applicator. Formula contains shea butter and jojoba oil!
The texture is a lot like the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, as is the wear. This is a 1x swatch and you can see how pigmented it is.
It leaves behind creamy shine and opaque colour. So far there are only five shades, but I am crossing my fingers they release more.
And here’s the full look! I used the contour palette’s lighter bronze shade in Fable to create a bit of shadow under my cheeks. Blush is Mauvelous and highlight is Legendary.
This is one of the most beautiful au naturel looks I have worn in awhile. The 4-in-1 powder foundation photographs really nicely as it’s not too matte and doesn’t cover up my skin too much. I only used a small amount of concealer on blemishes, dark spots and under my eyes, so this coverage is all the powder!
