I have about 15 different highlighting powders, but the one…
The year 1995 started on a Sunday. It was the year I turned 18, and I was pretty much invincible (or so I thought). Some of my all-time favourite movies came out in ’95 like Seven, The Usual Suspects, Clueless and Twelve Monkeys. We all wanted to look like Jennifer Aniston (or at least I did) with the “Rachel” hairdo, plaid flannel shirts over crop tops and, of course, a pinky-brown nude lip.
Gerard Cosmetics recently teamed up with pro MUA Jaclyn Hill to release a line of creamy matte lipsticks. I had never heard of the brand until this collab. I was curious and intrigued with this colour in particular because I never really got over the 90s (except for the bad hair, I got over that real fast).
“Get inspired by the neutral nudes of the 90s with Jaclyn Hill’s signature lipstick, 1995. Inspired by the 90s grunge revival and the beauty trends of an unforgettable decade, this iconic creation is a matte but creamy lip color that isn’t trendy but a timeless expression of glam.”
This formula is hydrating and very comfortable. It dries down to a soft matte. The colour is definitely versatile, I have worn it with very natural makeup as well as with brights. Plus, it is really, really close to the Pantone MARSALA colour of the year!
So 1995 has been the gateway to my new addiction to Gerard Cosmetics. I now have their whole lipstick collection and A LOT of lip glosses. Expect more reviews in the future.
And as a special treat, my fave MUA Manny has a great deal going on right now. Use code MANNYLIP to get 3 Gerard lipsticks for $30! (That’s $10 each from regularly $19).
