Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure review

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure review

I am already in love with Hourglass Ambient Lighting in Dim Light, so when they released the Ambient Lighting Blush…. my wallet cried. These were available to VIBs only on Sephora and at the Hourglass site for maybe a day or less before they sold out. But never fear, a restock is near!

Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposre
Mood Exposure – described as a soft plum, it combines a warm “clay pink” blush in a finely milled powder and the Mood Light (a lavender pink powder).

It comes in a beautiful, sleek gold compact with a mirror.

Hourglass Ambient Light blush
Goes on ultra-smooth and adds color and a glow to my skin. This is a beautiful winter blush!

Hourglass Mood Exposure blush
A nice blush for my cool pale skin (NW15).

You can see the soft shimmer and deep warm clay color, almost like a deep dark ruddy peach even. I’ve seen others swatch this and it varies depending on the swirl (I have more of the Mood highlight powder in mine).

What I like: The texture is amazing! It glides over my dry patchy skin and is pigmented enough I don’t have to use a lot BUT it’s not too pigmented either. Wear time is about 6 or 7 hours. (about the same as MAC, a bit less than Nars or LMdB)
What I don’t like: The price. It was $40 CAD, but you know full well I will be getting more of these!

Final thoughts? This is my HG blush. Why do you do this to me, Hourglass???

On my eyebrows (this is for you Kalyn!): Almay twist-up eyebrow pencil in Medium Brown, Anastasia Dipbrow in Blonde to fill in and help shape, Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe to darken and set. The brow struggle is real!
