Julep Boho Glam Maven Box for April review

Julep Boho Glam Maven Box for April review

The Julep Maven boxes for April were from the Vivid collection. The colors are bright, vibrant and perfect for Spring time! I had such trouble choosing (in fact I switched my choice about 3 times), but I settled on the Boho Glam box… and boy am I ever glad I did!

Julep Phoebe nail polish Boho Glam
Phoebe – Described as a vibrant jungle metallic, it’s really more teal than the photo on Julep’s site lead on. It does lean green in some lights but it truly is a turquoise/teal. Retail $11.20 (Maven price)

Two coats (almost opaque in one!), no top coat. As with most metallics, this will streak if you’re not careful. Wear time is about 3 days or less without top coat.

Julep Sunny nail polish Boho Glam
Sunny – Described as an overexposed yellow chrome, I was thinking it would be a lot more bright neon. It’s a beautiful lemon yellow shimmer metallic. Retail $11.20 (Maven price)

You need 2 coats for this one or you end up with sheer translucent yellow shimmer nails. Shown here with no top coat, this one also is prone to streaking. Wear time is about 3 days.

Julep Glow Pore Minimizing Blush petal pink
Petal Pink Glow Pore Minimizing Blush – Glow’s groundbreaking formula diffuses the appearance of pores and imperfections, while diamond powder gives cheeks a luminous shimmer. Packed with vitamin B6 for a truly healthy glow. Contains Rosemary Extract, Rosehip Oil, Coffee Seed and all sorts of good stuff! Retails $19.20 (Maven Price)

PETAL PINK is a truly natural flush color for me. It’s medium cool neutral pink and is extremely flattering.

Packaging is really high-end too. Not cardboard or flimsy, this is sleek and slim made of frosted plastic with a nice mirror!

I have countless blushes and the formula for this is up there with NARS or Le Metier de Beaute. It’s buttery and soft. It goes on smooth and has a slight sheen but no shimmer. It doesn’t really “minimize” my pores, but I ain’t mad. Wear time is over 8 hours.

Julep Felicia speckled nail polish
Felicia speckled nail polish (add-on) – Described as black speckled mint crème, this reminds me of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream or a Robyn’s egg! When I saw this as an add-on I had to get it. Wear time is 5 or more days (no topcoat either). Retail $11.20 (Maven price)

2 coats, but it could be worn with 1 generous coat. This goes on smooth. It tends to get a bit goopy if you leave the bottle open too long though. I didn’t wear it with top coat and it lasted until my next mani (5 days later). Not gritty and a bit easier to remove than regular glitter polish.

My thoughts: This box was fantastic! I don’t have any colors like these polishes and the blush is quickly reaching HG status. When I think back to when I first signed up with Julep, I am extremely impressed with the expanded makeup selections and improved polish quality.

  • I am surprised to say this, but I LOVED Phoebe! Such a perfect shade! The blush also looks soooo pretty.

    • ME TOO! In the pics on Julep is was extremely green. I really like the blue-toned better anyway. The blush… to. die. for!

    • Jayne

I too am a big fan of Phoebe! I skipped this month, but this polish I would have liked!

  • This box looks great! I love the speckled polish and that blush looks gorgeous on you 🙂

  • quite like the speckled nail polish.
wait. so did julep make the blush as well? yes right? i’m curious to see how else they’re branch out..

    • Yep, Julep has branched out into cosmetics. I’ve tried eyeshadow, lipstick, lipgloss and now the blush. The eyeshadow was only ok but this blush is good. Speckled polish is sooo last year but I love it.

  • love love the green polish, how perfect for easter! also amazing to hear about the blush, sometimes julep cosmetics are hit or miss and this one sounds like a definite hit! I miss my julep boxes!

    • Yea the eyeshadows were “meh” and I didn’t like the packaging. the blush is AMAZING. Looking forward to Kalyn’s review of it as well.

  • Tanya Lovetere

I love Phoebe and Felicia! Great colors!

  • Anna

The mint polish makes me huuuungry

  • Megan Joy

    “I aint mad” lol

You kill me Julie! You really do love your blushes. I love NARS so if this is a dupe I am SO DOWN!

    • Seriously though, is my first concern when wearing a blush my pores? No! The consistency is NARS-worthy for sure. I wanna get the one Kalyn has.

  • Brittnee KAO

Seriously Julep is getting better and better – I wish I had re-subscribed for April!

    • The thing I don’t like about the Julep program now is new subscribers don’t get the option of skipping every month.

  • I love the speckled nail polish! I have a similar one from Hard Candy, only mine just has one size of glitters in it.

  • I got all the polishes but am totally regretting not getting that speckled polish. Looks great on you!
