You may remember last year’s Mac Illustrated by Julie Verhoeven.…
It’s not often that I say I’m obsessed with a beauty product, but with the Lancôme Matte Shaker lip stains, obsessed certainly fits!
When Lancome first released the lip shakers, it was a pigment stain suspended in oil. I wasn’t really thrilled with the results or feel of the oil on my lips. But these Matte Shakers are just SO. DAMN. GOOD.
How it works is you shake the creamy pigment and “matte oil” together and it deposits on this chubby sponge applicator. You then just swipe on your lips! The shade above is Yummy Pink.
I was really surprised with how easy it was to get a straight and even lip line with that large applicator. And the pigmentation was phenomenal.
Wearing Yummy Pink, a bright blue pink.
The thing I love about this formula is there isn’t a lot of slip and it doesn’t feather a lot. The pigmented stain stays all day (and sometimes into the next). Shade shown above is Pink Power.
I’ve found that sometimes if I don’t shake enough, the finish is more matte…. but ALWAYS super pigmented.
Pink Power is a bright magenta and I AM IN LOVE. It reminds me of MAC’s Candy Yum Yum only it’s way more comfortable to wear than a typical matte lipstick.
And continuing on my ode to the Matte Shakers, I bring you the most beautiful shade in the world: Kiss Me Cherie, a deep brick red.
This shade is gorgeous and literally lasted on my lips for two whole days. The finish wears down and you need to apply a bit of gloss on top to keep your lips hydrated, but that stain just doesn’t quit!
The amount of compliments I got when wearing this shade was unreal!
The Lancome Matte Shakers are $29 CAD and come in 7 different shades, and I hope they make more shades soon!
