The MAC Contour & Sculpt Yourself palette popped up out…
The “EYEvolution” in makeup has arrived! Lise Watier’s Fall 2015 collection is all about reinventing classic makeup that is natural and minimal and using new innovations to make it last longer and work better! Last month, I was lucky enough to hang out with the team from Lise Watier to preview the entire EYEVOLUTION collection (available here), and let me tell you… I am impressed.
It all starts with a good base. The Extreme Hold Eye CC Primer ($27 CAD) is a tinted, waterproof eye primer that evens out tone and neutralizes. It also dries down to a powdery texture that actually smoothes the lids and intensifies shadows.
Next up are the Ombre Velours Supreme ($25 CAD), a cream eyeshadow that starts with a really creamy consistency and sets to a powdery finish. Formula includes Labrador Tea so it actually makes your skin better as you wear it. There are 6 shades available: Peach, Fume, Vanilla, Sable, Rose, Taupe.
I received Rose and Taupe to try (full review coming). These are so soft and totally waterproof. I just use my finger to pat and blend and they’re set for good!
The EYEVOLUTION Eyeshadow Quartet ($37 CAD) is really the star of the show… and a freaking amazingly good deal.
You get four shades that pair together beautifully and the cream-to-powder formula is a dream to work with.
The first shade is a petal pink satin, perfect for highlighting. Next to it is a soft golden wheat satin which looks great on the lid.
The bottom row has a beautiful warm purple-y taupe shimmer, a shade I use to define the outer V. And the last shade is a deep green/brown (khaki) shimmer that blends into the other shades nicely to give the eye definition.
The texture is really silky smooth. These are 1x swatches and there is NO fallout at all. (Keep reading to see the complete eye look I did with this!)
I’ve often been disappointed in creamy eye pencils as they tend to travel and smudge on me, but these Intense Waterproof Eyeliners ($22 CAD) do not budge!
I received Anthracite (a metallic grey steel) and Chocolat Intense (a shimmery brown). Both are creamy and easy to apply, and after about 10 seconds they set to be completely waterproof.
At the event, I swatched all 8 shades available (Espresso, Black, Foret, Chocolat, Marin, Mauve de Gris, Anthracite, Marron). I actually think I repeated Espresso twice here… but… the left photo is about an hour after the event. The right side photo is 16 hours later after I slept and showered. Pretty impressive!
I defined the eye by using the dark taupe in the outer V and into the crease. The petal pink was the perfect highlight and blending shade for under my brow.
And the finishing touch, the cult favourite Dramatique Intense 3D Volumne Mascara ($24 CAD). Surprisingly I have never tried this mascara before! It’s really really black and the formula is enriched with peptides to help strengthen and protect your lashes.
The brush helped coat every lash and really thickened them up. The formula also gives a bit of length and curl (I do not use a lash curler).
Here’s the finished look. Hello lashes! All these products are very longwearing, just like the claims say. I’ve been wearing the shadows over the CC Eye Primer all day with no creasing, and that eyeliner hasn’t moved an inch.
The Lise Watier EYEVOLUTION is available now online at LiseWatier.com, and at local drugstores (Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada).
