With 8 new Clinique Cheek Pop blushes, it was hard…
Back in April, I tested out a new-to-me brand, Kiss NY Pro. I was lucky enough to get a handful of products to try from the PR team at IMATs and was excited to learn the brand was coming to Canada. Well… Kiss has landed at Rexall and London Drugs! And to celebrate, their team here sent even more stuff for me to try, so here we go…
Let’s talk about this Top Brow Fine Precision Pencil for a minute. If you’ve read this blog for even a minute, you’ll know I have tested every brow product out there (proof and more proof). Well this pencil rivals my all-time faves ABH Retractable Brow Pencil and NYX Micro Brow. It has a fine tip and goes on smooth over bare skin, which a lot of pencils with high wax content do not. It comes in 6 shades, shown above is Deep Dark Brown, and I promise to have a full review of at least 4 of those shades coming soon.
(Also pictured the Gel Eye Liner in Intense Brown. Literally the only product I didn’t like of the bunch because it didn’t stay on my waterline).
Now since the shade sent to me was quite dark, I used it to line the bottom part of my brow and tail, and I also used it to create some dimension in the head of the brow (my microblading has pretty much faded so I need to draw in more now). Also, this pencil stays pretty much all day.
Next up, this gorgeous warm Hexa Eyeshadow Palette in Pink Nude (available in 4 shades, $12.99 CAD). The pigmentation for this palette is quite nice and these are easy to blend. But every shadow is a shimmer except for the deep brown. If only that large beige pan was matte I would’ve loved this so much more.
I used most of the shades in the palette for this look and I really love how it turned out. I was able to create a soft, warm gradient burgundy look that had a ton of shimmer and sheen. On the lower lashline is the Luxury Eye Crayon in Orange Brown. This wore off after about 5 hours but I really do rub my eyes a lot.
I’d definitely call this look soft, feminine and a bit “romantic”. The subtle sheen and the easy blendability makes this a great everyday palette, or even a good option for travel or as a starter palette for someone who hasn’t dabbled with makeup a lot.
For my lips, I lined them with the Luxury Lip Liner in Brown, which is a warm 90s Jennifer Aniston shade. I don’t often wear liner but decided to overdraw and I was ecstatic at how big my lips looked. I topped the liner with The Queen Creamy Lipstick in Adore (12 shades, $9.99 CAD), which has a nice creamy semi-matte finish and almost a gummy texture.
The liner went on my fairly chapped lips very smoothly. I think I may start wearing liner again…
Although the Contour Kit I received was in the shade Medium, it was actually quite wearable even for my fair skin. You get three shades in these kits, one is a shimmer that can be used as a bronzer.
I used the lightest matte shade to sculpt my cheekbones and nose. It blended out nicely and was packed with pigments. Really, really impressed with this formula!
But after that last pic, you’re probably wondering what the “in-your-face” highlight was. Well let me introduce you to the Halo Strobing Palette, shown here in Medium (available in 3 shades, $19.99 CAD). I used the middle shade on the top of my cheekbones for that insane glow. The pigmentation reminds me of Becca’s highlighter, only the formula isn’t as soft. The first shade in the palette is more sheen, less shimmer, while the 3rd shade is a deeper gold shimmer.
Here’s the final look! I must admit, I am feeling myself in this photo. Kiss NY Pro really knocked it out of the park.
So welcome to Canada, Kiss NY Pro! We’re happy to have you.
