“Strobing” may be a new term, but using shimmery highlight…
I’ve had Sugar Plum Fairies dancing in my head since last year’s LUSH Holiday collection. And this year, I’m happy to announce that the LUSH Sugar Plum Fairy line-up is getting naked!
But let’s start at the beginning. Last year, LUSH released two Sugar Plum Fairy products to go along with the seasonal Santa Baby lip scrub and tint. The first was a festive twist on their iconic sugar lip scrub which blends castor sugar with jojoba oil and juicy blackcurrants.
We also saw the selection of lip tints expand with Sugar Plum Fairy’s purple tint in a twist-up tube. This formula blends kalahari melon and organic jojoba oils with a bit of shimmer, sweet orange oil and a pinky purple stain that leaves your lips mistletoe-ready.
And this year, Sugar Plum Fairy is getting naked! To save on packaging, this solid sugar scrub tile comes in a little recycled paper box. It still contains all the good stuff from the original scrub in the glass jar, with the addition of murumuru butter and a few other oils/waxes to help it hold its shape.
Here’s what the scrub tile looks like out of the box. Once it comes into contact with your body heat, it starts to melt a bit making it easy to rub on your lips.
I actually find this a little less messy than using the scrub from the jar because you’re placing this directly on your lips and the sugar is a bit finer.
And then there’s the Sugar Plum Fairy naked lip tint. Can we just take a moment for this breathtaking design.
The formula is a mix of oils and waxes, like jojoba, kalahari melon, coconut and sunflower. The rose wax and sweet wild orange oil give it a citrus-y floral scent (and taste I think). And along with the berry-coloured stain there’s a hint of shimmer too!
To apply, you just grab a lip brush and swirl it around in the product and then brush on your lips (but to be honest, I applied it directly using the lip cube).
