LUSH Zeste Hair Gelly review

LUSH Zeste Hair Gelly review

The LUSH Cosmetics Kitchen has been cooking up some great new inventions this season. There are 6 for you to discover and today I have  a new medium to strong hold hair gel called Zeste.

Lush Zeste Hair Gelly 2
Water, orange juice, carrageenan extract, glycerin and PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone), Violet leaf. And damn does it ever smell good, like fresh oranges and tart little flowers. I really think they need to make this a fragrance.

The texture is like a thick goo that blobs together, much like the Masters of the Universe Slime Pit of the 80s. But you can grab a small amount and thin it out if you just want some definition to curls or waves or a lift to your roots, which is what I use it for.

But if you want to hold back a well-coiffed bun (a la ballet class) or a punk rock mohawk, grab a glob and go nuts! This won’t leave a greasy residue and is fairly flexible, not crusty.

LUSH Zeste Hair Gelly is available now for $12.95 CAD at your local LUSH store or online at

  • it looks so edible!

  • This looks so good! I bet it smells delicious!

    Sammy xx

  • This looks so cool! Love that it doesn’t leave you hair looking greasy or crunchy 🙂

  • Tanya Lovetere

interesting….it looks like a jam that you would eat!

  • …they do hair products aside from shampoo and conditioner????? This is brand new information. I agree with Tanya though, it does look more like jam…..
(but seriously, some of their other product scents need to be made into fragrances UGH)

    • I want a perfume that smells exactly like Lovely Jubblies. When they release LE scents like Twilight and Snowcake, I jump.

  • Oh my goodness… my boyfriend has that slime pit! (never thought would be a sentence I’d ever have to utter, lol). I rarely use hair gel of any sort, but the scent and texture of this sound amazing! May have to snag a sample 🙂
