The MAC Julia Petit lipsticks sold out in near record time, I mean I haven’t seen a MAC blitz like that since the Marilyn Monroe collection! Luckily with my speedy reflexes I was able to grab all three to test out and review. And don’t worry, if you missed out I have some comparisons below!
The first to sell out was Boca, followed by Acai and Petite Red. To be honest, these aren’t that hard to dupe, but the LE packaging is slick (perfect for collectors).
Shiny patent black with an orange-y gold monogram, reminiscent of the shiny black tubes from holiday collections past.
BOCA – Soft pink nude satin
This a very creamy and pigmented nude, it’s neutral (not too pink, not too brown or orange), and it isn’t patchy.
On my NW15 skin, it is fairly flattering, just a touch less pink than my actual lip shade.
Twig is the same tone but a couple shades darker. Oxblood is matte and warmer/more orange. I don’t have an exact dupe for this, but I have heard MAC Faux is similar.
ACAI – Vivid deep violet matte
This is more of a berry shade than a deep violet, and I was definitely hoping for something deeper and cooler. It goes on very creamy and eventually dries down quite matte.
The colour is really stunning and not too bright. I think this would work on virtually any skintone.
Rebel is a bit darker and satin. Vasanti Mad Love is a lighter/pink and a bit more matte.
Fashion Revival is similar, just a bit more red. (This shows how shiny the matte formula is before it dries down)
PETITE RED – Strawberry cream satin
This shade is a very nice hot pink red. It’s creamy, hydrating and very pigmented. I only had to swipe twice for this colour payoff!
Petite Red is a nice alternative to a classic red, it’s a warm red fuchsia that just doesn’t quit (seriously, this one and Acai both left a gorgeous raspberry on my lips).
Love Goddess is cooler/more pink, Clinique Mightiest Maraschine is a bit darker, a touch cooler and more sheer.
Were you able to snag any of the MAC Julia Petit lipsticks? Did you grab anything else from the collection?
