First there were Clinique Chubby Sticks for lips… then eyes.…
The MAC Cosmetics x The Osbournes collection launched online this week, and wow did it ever sell out fast! I was lucky enough to snag these two beautiful lipsticks (which were my faves of the 4).
First, let’s talk about the packaging. Everything is a violet purple with a red Kelly signature. Reminiscent of the Dame Edna 2008 collection.
Kelly Yum-Yum – described as bright blue pink, this satin finish lipstick is Kelly’s take on the ever-popular Candy Yum-Yum!
This is creamy, opaque and pigmented. It has a bit more “slippage” than other satins I have tried but it was easy to apply and even out. Hydrating, not drying and it stays on for about 5-6 hours or so.
NOTE: This one leaves a helluva stain.
Now I already love the CYY matte lipstick. It’s bright and bold with a gorgeous blue tone that brings out my skin. The Kelly Yum-Yum is just one better. It has a semi-matte look to it (not intensely glossy) and is really creamy. The stain it left on my lips was ok too, but it didn’t come off for quite awhile.
Shown here on the left next to Candy Yum-Yum matte.
Kelly Yum-Yum is a bit less blue and, of course, satin instead of matte.
As with all MAC Matte lipsticks, it isn’t a true, dry matte (whereas Melt Cosmetics tends to be or even the MAC Retro Mattes). It has a slight sheen to it, which I like and gives it a bit of a creamy, less drying feel. I got about 4 hours wear out of it before I had to reapply.
I was worried about the light shade of this, thinking it would make me zombie-tastic, but it is actually quite lovely.
