The Chanel Fall 2016 makeup collection is all about the…
There are three Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Trios in the MAC Wash and Dry collection:
Permanent Press – white beige, calm brown bronze, black with gold pearls
Green Clean – pale white green, lime, deep khaki with gold pearls
Warm Wash – white with orange gold pearl, peachy orange, copper gold bronze
The packaging is a full-wrap gradient teal to orange to yellow foil finish.
If you’ve never tried the Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow formula, it’s very different from other MAC shadows. It’s softer, has a bit of a creamy texture, is very, VERY shimmery and even a bit delicate and fragile. When I went to swatch it with a heavy hand, the shadow broke up a bit.
Top to bottom: black with gold pearls, calm brown bronze, white beige
I was surprised at how little fallout I had with these considering my last experience with this formula wasn’t great. The black shade has gorgeous gold pearl reflects that aren’t chunky at all.
I used the bronze on the centre of the lid into the crease, added the black in the outer V and blended in, I then added the white beige to the inner corner of my eye.
I applied these dry, but I have heard applying with a damp brush deposits a deeper, darker colour. Be sure to pat these on instead of furiously blending or you will wipe away the gorgeous glitters of the black shade!
And may I suggest picking up a pack of Shadow Shields when using looser shadows like this? It creates a perfect angle!
Here I used alternate lighting to show the true shimmery nature of this formula.
You can really see the gold pearl here, using more direct light not diffused studio lighting.
Overall a pretty soft smoky look. You can definitely switch it up and go bolder with the black on the lid and create a bunch of different looks with this trio. I will also be trying the white beige as a cheek highlight!
The MAC Cosmetics Wash and Dry collection launches May 21 online and at all MAC locations in North America.
