When Lime Crime released their newest opaque lipstick, Babette, I…
What I love most about the summer is water sports! I am an avid scuba diver and always end up at the beach. But as you know, I also LOVE makeup too. These things do not go hand in hand… until now.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic Waterproof Glide-On Shadow Pencil promises hours of wear, even in watery situations.
This eye shadow pencil glides on and stays put. The unbelievably blendable texture includes silica, so it applies effortlessly onto the eyelid and won’t transfer. This highly-pigmented, waterproof, smudge-free shadow delivers immediate, intense color payoff.
I am putting you to the test MUFE!!!

The colour I have is S-60, a warm satiny brown with a hint of shimmer.
This is very pigmented and really does glide on. The colour is a nice warm brown with some soft copper shimmer mixed in. To blend, use your fingers. You’ll need the heat to work the product around. Because of the waterproof formula it won’t want to blend after it has set, so act fast!
Now onto the tougher test…
WATERPROOF TEST #2:
I applied two different looks, this first one is a simple thick winged eyeliner. I literally swiped this across my eyes twice and then filled in where I missed to even it out. The after photo is AFTER I showered with the eyeliner on. My mascara is gone, my eyeliner is NOT!
The second look is what I call the Amy Winehouse, a mix between winged eyeliner and smudgey shadow. Again, this survived a full 20 minutes shower. You can see some minor fading under my bottom lash line but that is mostly from me rubbing my eyes in the shower.
I’d say this eyeshadow passed the test… swimmingly!
This was really easy to remove with my Max/Effect Naturals makeup remover. I swiped twice and it came right off!
You know what else is pretty cool? You can pop off the bottom of this twist-up shadow pencil to reveal a sharpener!
This is some eyeshadow magic voodoo right here. I am HOOKED. These remind me a lot of the MAC Powerchrome Pencils (from Temperature Rising 2013). They can be tricky to blend, but with little trial and error you’ll find the sweet spot. I find a little blending with my finger tips, then blending OUT with a crease brush and some shadow works.
The Make Up Forever Aqua Matic Waterproof Eyeshadow Pencils are available in 10 shades (including a delicious lime one), $25 CAD.
Obligatory underwater photo!
