As part of the newly released Revlon by Marchesa beauty tools…
I cannot resist red and purple shadows, so obviously the Make Up For Ever Lustrous Shadow Palette was top of my list during the VIB Rouge sale. This palette costs $58 CAD (value $193!!!).
You get 12 shadows, 0.05 oz each, in both matte and metallic shades. There’s a perfect matte beige/ivory to use as a base and browbone highlight. There are a few matte transition shades and some gorgeous deep, pigmented mattes for the outer V and crease. Plus those metallics are so lush.
M100 – black matte
M608 – red brown
ME512 – golden beige metallic
M847 – deep red (blush)
M322 – khaki
M536 – milk tea
ME728 – copper red
M500 – ivory (which is pretty much my skintone)
M619 – dark taupe
M928 – eggplant (blush)
ME840 – pink chrome
M549 – medium taupe
The first look I did, I had to use that cherry red shade. I used the ivory shadow as a base and Milk Tea as a transition. I then lightly blended that cherry red lightly in the crease then patted on a denser amount in the outer V.
I blended a hint of the red brown matte into the outer corner for definition. Then that beautiful copper red metallic took over the rest of the lid.
Worn here with a coral blush and opal highlight from the Make Up For Ever Lustrous Blush Palette (review here).
Next, I wanted to do something more neutral using the browns in the palette. This is a mix of both taupes and the khaki shade in the crease.
I used the golden beige metallic all over the lid to finish the look.
Paired here with Bite’s Mauvember liquid lip (review here).
The last look is all about the purples. Using the matte purple in the crease and the duochrome pink purple on the lid and blended into the crease, I created a halo look centred around the copper metallic.
I used the light taupe as a transition and the matte black to darken the lashline.
Highlight and blush is also Make Up For Ever, of course, from the Lustrous Blush Palette (review here).
The Make Up For Ever Lustrous Shadow Palette is not only amazing value but also helps you create complete looks which transition, definition, liner, highlight, metallic etc. This is a perfect little tin kit for travel!
