Before Pantone announced that the Color of the Year was…
The reason I rarely wear bronzer is because I find it looks unnatural on me or goes on too dark or orange. So when I received two shades of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Bronze Fusion bronzers ($42 CAD) to try out, I was excited (but a little bit nervous).
(20M and 25 I)
“A gel-power bronzer that blends seamlessly for a lightweight, foolproof, luminous glow.”
20M NATURAL MATTE SAND
Of the two I have, this is the cooler, lighter version. Both are intended for medium skin, but since these go on sheer I can control the pigmentation.
25I SOFT IRIDESCENT CINNAMON
This one is a bit darker and leans a bit more orange on me. Compared to the matte formula, which has very slight luminosity, this packs a bit more sparkle.
The compact is about average for a face powder (palm-sized) and comes with a mirror, good for touch-ups.
Swatched 2x, these are beautiful, diffused and buildable.
Because of the packed design, this bronzer requires a good dense brush and the 136 Pro Bronze Kabuki ($38 CAD) is perfect for the job! With its wooden handle and 100% soft synthetic fibers, this kabuki has moved up the ranks to be one of my all-time fave brushes.
Wearing 20M, lightly applied on the hollows of my cheekbones and around the top of my forehead. This is very subtle but helps give my face dimension and shape. Also wearing a bit of Clinique Peach Pop blush on the apples of my cheeks.
I am happy to report I’ve been wearing this bronzer almost daily now. It has a foolproof application and stays put ALL DAY, even during hot and humid weather. I typically wear it as a bit of a contour shade, but sometime I sweep it all over for a full bronze effect.
