This warm weather has me singing, dancing and wearing brighter colours. So I was super pumped when Mary Kay sent over 4 new BOLD and bright Mary Kay at Play Bold Fluid liquid eyeliners for me to have a little fun with.
Turn up the fun factor with this super-cool shade. Whether you go for a basic eye look with a fun pop of colour or an all-out, multi-coloured work of art, Mary Kay At Play™ has you covered with high-impact bold fluid eyeliners.
WARNING: I suck at eyeliner. Be prepared for many images of eyeliner all over my lashes…
L-R: Gold Metal, Blue My Mind, The Real Teal, Hello Violet
The Real Teal reminds me of the ocean. It’s shimmery, a bit subtle and very teal bordering on seafoam.
I had to go over my lash line a few times to get this intensity. The formula was a bit watery. But daaamn this is stunning.
I found this fairly easy to use as far as creating a nice wing.
You can see in this shot that it goes on a bit watery and patchy.
But I love the look from far way. WATCH OUT though, this one stains the skin a bit.
Hello Violet is a royal purple with a hint of shimmer.
Very opaque and pigmented. A bit on the thick side. It actually felt a bit tight on my lids when it dried too.
This wasn’t as watery as the teal, but I did have to work at it a bit swiping AND dabbing for even coverage.
The purple against my eyes is really quite stunning. Definitely digging this colour for me. The gold gives a nice pop too. And speaking of Gold…
Gold Metal is a warm yellow gold shimmer. I wouldn’t wear this one on its own, so I have paired it with both the purple and the blue.
Opaque in one stroke, fairly thick but not goopy. This one was a bit “wetter” than the others but still fairly easy to work with.
Blue My Mind is a matte royal blue, similar to Lime Crime’s Lazuli only not as bright and pigmented.
Shown here paired with Gold Metal.
FORMULA (for the blue):
Again, fairly watery on first application. Not as pigmented as some liners I have tried (and I got it all over my lashes which I am actually cool with).
The end result though… BAM! I love it. Because of the lighter formula, when compared to Lime Crime, this is easy to blend and fix.
This is a good shot of both the blue and gold working together. A bit of a weird look (it was way cooler in my head. )
Gold and blue look. I feel like these are some sort of sports team colours…
From far away Blue My Mind… really does… blow my mind. Ugh, I went there.
- The brush applicator is only ok. It’s a bit stiff making it harder to work with the liquid.
- I do like the formula though, these stay put for hours (even after a good cry!)
The Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Liners are available from your lovely neighbourhood Mary Kay consultant OR online at MaryKay.ca for $12 CAD!
