Caramelized pears. Not doesn’t that smell delicious? And that’s exactly…
Burberry recently released a new take on their infamous My Burberry scent. The Eau de Toilette is a lighter, more sheer version of their previous Eau de Parfum (reviewed here), and although the bottles and packaging look similar, they are actually quite different.
” My Burberry is a joyful scent that captures the essence of a spring garden with blooming rain-tipped flowers.”
Now let’s talk about this beautiful packaging. Like the EDP, the bottle is thick, sturdy glass with a gold embossed wordmark.
The details give a nod to what Burberry is already well-known for, their trenchcoats. The cap has a horn design much like a the buttons on a Burberry trench.
And the nozzle is wrapped up in a trench-like gabardine bow.
You can see how hefty the bottle is, barely fitting into my hands (this is the 50 mL version).
The Eau de Toilette, as I have mentioned, is a sheer interpretation of the original. It has similar notes with some notable differences. The EDT has a light citrus opening that doesn’t exist in the EDP. As well, it wears down to a lighter, more floral and feminine musk, whereas the EDP has more earthy, “heady” notes in the base.
EAU DE TOILETTE
Top Notes: Sweet pea, Lemon flower
Heart Notes: Peonies, Peach flower, Freesia
Base Notes: Damask Rose, White Moss, Musk
EAU DE PARFUM
Top notes: Sweet Pea, Bergamot
Mid notes: Golden Quince, Geranium, Freesia
Base notes: Patchouli, Rain-Tipped Damask Roses
Because of the formula of EDT perfume, this takes a bit more product to create a strong scent. It doesn’t wear quite as long but is perfect for someone looking for something light and airy.
If you love the My Burberry EDP, I think you’ll really enjoy this new take on the scent. Available in 3 sizes at Sephora!
