EDIT: The votes are in. Now check out the swatches.…
You may have noticed my new obsession is Nudestix. And the latest addition to my collection is the Nude(art)ist Box Creator’s Palette, which contains six of their Magnetic Matte Lip Color crayons. But what’s even cooler is that each of these shades were created in collaboration with some of my favourite influencers!
The six crayons come in a metal tin with the creator’s autographs imprinted on top.
There’s a mirror inside, a sharpener and a little sheet telling you the story behind each shade.
The formula is like the regular line of the Magnetic Mattes, creamy going on and dries down very matte (almost like a lip tattoo). But the caps for these have signatures of the creators as well. They spared no expense on this kit!
And here are the shades:
Montaigne created by Donovan Gibb (MakeupbyDG)
Sonoran created by Lynette (Lynette Cenee)
Baby K created by Karen O (IamKarenO)
Joyce created by CydBee (CydBeats)
Go Girl created by Jalessa (SaytheLees)
Freckle created by Samantha Ravndahl (Ssssamantha)
Montaigne is a neutral nude.
Sonoran is more of a brown nude.
Baby K is a bright coral orange.
Go Girl created is a warm peachy nude.
Joyce is a deep brown.
Freckle is a terracotta pinky brown.
“It is the definition of the iconic nude.” – Donovan Gibb (MakeupbyDG)
I tend to agree. This nude is perfectly balanced!
“I wanted to create an everyday nude to match the color palette of the [Sonoran] desert.” – Lynette (Lynette Cenee)
I am feeling this brown nude so much! It’s a bit 90s Jennifer Aniston without being too dark.
“An everyday color for the spunky girl.” – Karen O (IamKarenO)
I did not think I would like this as much as I do. It is actually not as bright as I thought it would be and is unlike any shade I own. I think Karen achieved what she set out to do!
“Feeling confident in yourself, taking your power back, and letting your natural beauty take centre stage.” – Jalessa (SaytheLees)
For some reason, this shade was drier than the others and just crumbled on my lips. Even in the swatches up top, you can see it drag. The shade is nice though.
“My earliest memory of makeup is my mom wearing her favorite chocolate brown lipstick… I named it after my favorite person, my mom [Joyce].” – CydBee (CydBeats)
Can you tell I was feeling sexy as heck in this photo? I love this shade so much. It’s a bit dry (I had to apply a bit of balm on top after) but it looks so good with this Modern Renaissance eye look.
“Something dramatic and grungy on fairer skin, and a gorgeous everyday color for deeper skin tones.” – Samantha Ravndahl (Ssssamantha)
Yep, this shade is PERFECT. Of course.
So not only is the Creator’s Palette an unreal value (only $65 CAD for $168 CAD in product), but the shades are fantastic too. My only wish is that there was one either pink or red in here. So many nuuuudes.
