Bouncy eyeshadows may not be new, but these bouncy Soft Serve…
I can never resist Paul & Joe’s cat-themed makeup, and for their 20th anniversary they’ve really won this cat lady’s heart. I grabbed the Limited Edition Make-Up Collection “A”, mostly for the cutie cat tote.
This set cost around $100 (they have it at Shoppers Drug Mart and on Beauty Habit) and it comes with a tote, makeup bag, change purse, compact with highlight powder, eye/cheek colour pot and a lipstick.
The little makeup bag or clutch is a gorgeous satin-y pouch with a bright topical bird and flower design. It has a Tiffany blue/green lining and a beautiful clasp.
This refillable pressed powder compact is so pretty! It will fit any of the powder duos and powder foundation refills.
The compact comes prefilled in this set with the Pressed Powder Duo A, a very light porcelain matte highlight and a sparkly pink.
The matte highlight is really like a setting powder on me since it pretty much matches my skintone. It’s a really soft and silky powder too, perfect for under my eyes. The shimmer shade is fairly sparkly but it looks really nice on.
Face Color A in Cheerful Tulip is an eye or cheek colour in a warm sparkly pink. I used it as both a blush and eye shade here and it was a bit sheer but left a nice luminous glow.
Shown here on my lid, it leaves a hint of pink and shimmer behind.
Lipstick “A” is a sheer light pinky coral with a hint of shimmer. It comes in this adorable cartoon leopard lipstick tube. If you’ve ever bought a Paul & Joe lipstick, you’ll know that it’s a two part design: fun outer tube (paper ones for LE designs and permanent line plastic cases) and you pick any refill you want to go in the tube!
The lipstick is from the permanent collection, I think, as it has the signature floral design. Not going to lie, I was really hoping for cat face lipsticks.
This leaves behind a hint of tint, shine and a little shimmer, plus it feels really nice and soft on the lips.
The final look is very natural and glowy. I added some shades from the Zoella Cocoa Blend palette for definition on the eyes, and also used the same Paul & Joe pink cheek/eye shade as a blush. The highlight is a mix of both the matte and shimmer powders.
And of course, I saved the best for last. This beautiful big nylon floral tote folds up INTO A CAT HEAD.
It’s pretty large, obviously too large for my lightbox, but if you want to see the full size you can check out Karen’s blog.
All in all, I am pretty happy with this set. I love Paul & Joe makeup quality and the little extras are super cute. The price tag is a bit high though, luckily I had a ton of Shoppers Optimum Points so I got it for free!
