Red Carpet Look: Clarins Eyeshadow Palette in Rosewood and Makeup Revolution Rose Gold lipstick in Red Carpet + Golden Sugar 2 Palette
It’s film fest time here in Toronto, something I prepare…
The eye-catching plastic case is just the beginning. When you open it up…
Breathtaking! Now usually shadows with pretty patterns and gimmicks don’t perform well, but I’ll spoil the surprise and let you know these are legit!
Most are shimmer-based, shown above using my camera’s crappy flash. There are mattes mixed in to create a really perfect eye look.
I decided to swatch these row by row since that is how I used them, starting left to right. The single teal shadow is extremely impressive and the first gradient of purple blurples make a beautiful gradient.
The lime to teal to brown trio isn’t as pigmented as the purple one. I found the matte shade to be a bit chalky. The single yellow gold shadow though was mesmerizing!
I just love this row all together. The first shade, a bronzy gold, is buttery and smooth. The trio is a neutral one that starts with a very shimmery brown into a more satin finish brown and then finishes with a matte neutral shade for transition and highlight.
The 4th ombre is a warm burgundy. The matte shade here again is very sheer, but it makes for a nice sheer smoke-out. The burgundy shade is not as shimmery as others, just a soft satin. And the light pink is a nice matte shade to complete the look. To add a little fun, they ended this palette off with a crazy glittery silver.
For this look, I used the first ombre trio with the middle shade in the crease, the darkest shade on the outer V and that light purple on the lid.
I love this combination! I started with the single teal shade in the crease, and then from the 2nd ombre trio I blended in that beautiful shimmery teal on the outer 3rd of the crease, lid and the outer V.
There are no guidebooks or how-tos on looks for this palette, so I encourage you to mix, match and have a little fun. The pigmentation is on point and the shadows are very easy to work with. Overall, I am really impressed by the quality.
The Ombre Obsession eyeshadow palette is on sale at Sephora now for only $25 USD (sold out on the Canadian site). Check your local stores to find this one before it’s gone!
