The Body Shop Holiday Look: Dolly Pastels Eyeshadow Palette + Geisha Doll Lip & Cheek Stain

The Body Shop isn’t usually well known for their packaging, more for their scents and ingredients. But this year… oh they have outdone themselves. For the holiday season, they have come up with some adorable little items that I am in love with.

The Body Shop Dolly Pastels eyeshadow palette inside
The Dolly Pastels eyeshadow palette has a Nordic-inspired design that reminds me of a warm, cozy sweater.

The palette contains 2 shimmers, 1matte and 1 glittery shimmer, all enriched with Community Fair Trade Marula Oil making these buttery and almost creamy in texture. Now I don’t own a lot of light pastels so this was a nice addition to my collection.

On the back, you get instructions on howto achieve a sparkly holiday eye look. I tried to follow it as best I could, although I didn’t lve putting the peach sparkle under my brow and I added a bit more definition to the crease.

Swatched shadows 1 to 4. You can see the beige shimmer is very ver close to my skintone shade.

The Body Shop Dolly Pastels eyeshadow palette 1
Shade 1 on my whole lid and shade 2 (the lilac) on the outer portion of my lid. It doesn’t really show up as lilac on my eyes.

Using the matte brown on my lashline was amazing. It was rich, pigmented and stayed put all day. I also blended some of the brown into the crease for definition. I don’t like the shimmer (shade 4) under my eyebrow, but it looks nice in the inner corner!

Sadly this palette is no longer available online, but check stores for stock. Or you can try out the Frosted Pastels palette with a similar design.

The Body Shop Geisha Lip Cheek Doll stain
Next up, this cutie pie… Geisha Doll Lip & Cheek Stain! I definitely get an Asian vibe from the packaging and formula, it reminds me of Tony Moly or Etude House.

Inside, you’ll find a doe-foot applicator drenched in a bright blood-red stain with gold sparkles.

Now I have never used a lip stain like this before with gold sparkles. This formula is gel-like, a bit heavier than Benefit Benetint, but a similar shade.

The Body Shop Geisha Doll Lip Cheek
Swatched heavily on the lips to show the gold sparkle. This stains like putting red food dye on your lips, which is GREAT for a holiday party. You may want to line the lips though, I didn’t and the colour bled a bit. It is fairly moisturizing too!

Full look using the Geisha Doll on my cheeks and a bit on my lips (I tried to do a gradient lip and failed).

SO… I may be buying everyone I know one of those Geisha Dolls. It is adorable, affordable ($15 regular price, but there is always a sale!) and the formula is great.

That lip and cheek stain is so cute!

  • I love this palette on you – you can rock a pale pink like nobody’s business, Julie! I have the Geisha doll and LOVE HER! So cute and makes for a lovely cheek flush. I love the way it looks on your lips – I’ve got to try that!

    • I don’t typically rock pastels, but these are DOPE.

That geisha lady is sitting in my bathroom closet staring at me. It’s adorable.

  • Very pretty! Love the pigmentation and subtle glitter in the lip stain and you created such a nice look with the palette. All perfectly festive 🙂 Happy Holidays, Julie! xo

    • Thanks Jen! The stain had a surprise glitter that I didn’t even notice until I looked really closely in the mirror.

I found the pigmentation of this palette really sheer on me. I had a feeling my skintone would be to my detriment, but this looks wonderful on you! Your eyes just looks so alive! I, too, was a little wary of applying the shimmer all the way up to my brows…
