Unboxing Luxe Box Summer 2014 review

Unboxing Luxe Box Summer 2014 review

In my quest to try all the subscription boxes I can, I recently signed up for Loose Button’s Luxe Box. This sub is a seasonal (quarterly) that costs $30 CAD and promises lots of goodies.

To start, I really loved the high quality box it came in (much like a really high-end shoe box with silky drawstring garment bag inside).

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 Loose Button tweezers
TWEEZERS – The first item I pulled out of the bag was a pair of tweezers. These are no-name but still very high quality, close to Tweezerman. $13 CAD, full size.

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 Nicole by OPI Something About Spring nail polish
NICOLE BY OPI Something About Spring nail polish – This hot pink creme is really nice, the size is very small though (3.75 ml). $3.99 CAD, sample size.

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 Nexxus Color Assure Sulfate Free hair care
NEXXUS Color Assure Sulfate-Free System – Pre-wash primer, shampoo and conditioner. I don’t colour my hair anymore but I do like colour-treated formulas to keep my hair from turning brassy. I also love little sample bottles like this. Maybe I’ll use these up during the Sample Killah! $2 CAD, sample size.

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 LOccitane Shea Butter hand cream
L’OCCITANE 20% Shea Hand Cream – Just damn good hand cream in a travel size. I believe the retail on these are about $10 CAD? Recently Jenn from A Beautiful Zen proposed a toast to mini hand creams.

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 L'Occitane Pivoine Flora EDT
L’OCCITANE Pivoine Flora EDT – A very green and floral scent just packed with peonies. I don’t particularly love floral scents, but I do love pretty little perfume bottles. $3 CAD, sample size.

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 Eslor Skincare
ESLOR Skincare Introductory Collection – I have never heard of this brand but it’s paraben, SLS and SLES free, which is nice. Small foilies of cleanser, scrub, mask and cream that are maybe 2x use at best. Meh. $15 CAD, sample size. (I am calling BS on that pricing)

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner
EYEKO Skinny Eyeliner – Ever since Eyeko did an Alexa Chung collab, I have been eyeing their products. I have heard really great things about this felt-tipped liquid liner and I can’t wait to try it. $19 CAD, full size.

Loose Button Luxe Box Summer 2014 Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner 2
The felt tip is very stiff and smooth. Perfect eyeliner ahead!

Overall value is hovering around the $60 range. For $30 CAD per season, this isn’t a bad deal. I am really excited about the eyeliner, more than anything else in the box. I should also mention there were 3 bonus samples of Crest White Strips + 3D white toothpaste. Worth probably $1 or so.

Can’t wait for the Fall box to show up!

Sign up for Luxe Box now. No waiting list and there’s still time to sign-up for the next season’s box.

Just looking at the $3 price on the L’Occitane Pivoine fragrance. If you base it on retail it’s worth a lot more than that & the Eslor samples are way too high. What a joke!
