Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette review

Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette review

I know I’m a little tardy to the Naked party, but I finally grabbed my first Naked palette! This is Urban Decay’s 3rd Naked palette in their ever-growing collection of Naked products. This one is more pink/purple based where the other 2 were more neutrals. Let’s begin, shall we?

12 luscious and buttery shades in matte, shimmer/pearl and glitter. This palette is very versatile and consistent in its quality.

BURNOUT, LIMIT, DARKSIDE, STRANGE
Urban Decay Naked 3 Burnout Limit Darkside Strange
Burnout on the lid into the crease.
Limit in the crease and outwards.
Darkside outer crease and V.
Strange to blend crease into browbone

Urban Decay Naked 3 Burnout Limit Darkside Strange 2
This is such a perfect neutral everyday look. The quality of all 4 shadows was phenomenal!
My faves from this look: Strange I use almost everyday for blending and browbone. Limit I use in the crease A LOT.
Darkside was a little underwhelming. It went on a bit sheer.

BURNOUT, LIMIT, DARKSIDE, STRANGE, DUST
Urban Decay Naked 3 Burnout Limit Darkside Strange Dust
This look is the same as described above with touch of Dust applied to the centre lid.

Because this one had a slight glitter finish, there was bit of fallout.

TRICK, NOONER
Urban Decay Naked 3 Trick Nooner eyeshadow
Trick applied to the entire lid into the crease.
Nooner used for the crease and outwards.

Another warm pinky rose gold neutral look. This one is a bit more simple and easy.
My fave from this look: Nooner! It’s a gorgeous buttery matte that is perfect for crease definition!

LIAR, FACTORY

Liar on the lid into the crease.
Factory in the crease and outer V.

These two shadows are the most neutral/brown of the bunch. Very pigmented and gorgeous shimmer!
My fave of this look: BOTH OF THEM!

LIAR, FACTORY, BUZZ
Urban Decay Naked 3 Liar Factory Buzz eyeshadow
Same look as above only with Buzz added to the centre lid.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Liar Factory Buzz eyeshadow 2
Buzz is a bit more glittery than the other two in this look, similar to Dust in its finish. Just a bit darker, deeper.

BLACKHEART, MUGSHOT

Blackheart on the lid.
Mugshot in the crease and upwards.

So I know this look is a bit of a hot mess.
Blackheart has a bit of a grainy formula (because of the gorgeous red-shift glitters) and it just got super patchy.
I tried to blend out with Mugshot and…
This all just fell apart didn’t it?

Urban Decay Naked 3 Blackout Mugshot eyeshadow
Full view. (Side note: This day was a super hot mess for me makeup-wise. My skin broke out in a rash, my eyes were irritated and I was having some sort of allergic reaction to something. But I rocked ‘dem pearls like I was Audrey Hepburn anyway.)

My thoughts: This palette is in heavy rotation for me right now. The mattes are to die for as far as pigmentation and application. The pearl formula is also quite nice. And as much as I don’t like glitters, these ones aren’t too bad for fallout.

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette is available pretty much everywhere (even at select Shoppers Drug Marts in Canada!).
You can grab yours from Sephora for $62 CAD.

Ha ha tardy to the party. I got this one for Christmas but I returned it because I already have Naked 2. IDK this one just had too many shimmers for my taste. You are rocking them all though girl!

  • I still haven’t posted my review of this palette lol so you’re not the last one to the party! I bought mine online and none of my shadows were glued down into the palette. Every time I open it at least one shadow falls out… so ya, I haven’t been reaching for mine too often! Such a shame because these shades are super pretty 🙂 I need to just buy a Z Palette lol

  • I always see good reviews for this palette. One day I’ll own one. 🙂

  • I like the looks you did! Some day I’ll own a Naked palette. Maybe.

Amazing swatching as usual 🙂 I wish it was a bit more affordable :/ Love a good Britney reference!

  • Liar, factory & buzz is perfect, I love how versatile the palette is!

  • You are making these WERK, Julie! I love the looks you created, even though one went sideways on ya when you blended it out. You look tres belle in rose golds, boo! I actually returned Naked 3. The shadow quality (to me) wasn’t up to par with 1 and 2, which are both dessert island fave/dreamboats 4 life. I did fall in love with Liar, Factory, and Mugshot, and will purchase them as singles if ever they are offered!

This is my favorite of the 3 Nakeds so far. I use it quite a bit. I love the mattes and shimmers but there is a lot of fall out on the more glittery shades. I love the looks that you created!

  • This set is DESIGNED for people with your eye colour. Which means I, too, now must own it. I don’t know why or how I’ve managed to resist thus far…I think because I’d end up with all three…I know how this works.
