I never really put a lot of thought into how…
What is a verb? A part of speech that conveys action, being or an event. What is Verb Pro Haircare? A company out of Austin, TX that are “actively” (get it?) trying to make us all look good! They make haircare products that are color-safe, free of harmful sulfates, parabens and gluten and all without animal testing.
And you know what else? Verb is actively invading Canada!
I was lucky enough to try a few of their products from their line and… WOW.
First, let’s talk about the branding and packaging. It’s simple, clean and really quite modern. Something about the way that R is running after that B… I dunno. And their website is pretty cool. Coming from someone who helps build websites for a living, that’s a big compliment.
DRY SHAMPOO – Verb’s do-it-all dry shampoo refreshes hair, removes oil, boosts body and prevents damage from washing and styling. This non-whitening formula instantly absorbs impurities and re-energizes your look. Use daily or between washes to extend your blowout and add volume.
The formula is similar to the Fekkai version I have used in the past. It does require a bit of rubbing in of course, but it won’t leave that grey cast on your hair that some powders leave behind. The main ingredient is tapioca starch, which I find is a bit silkier and easier to deal with than the cornstarch that are in other formulas. It also has a nice light fruity scent to it.
STYLING CREAM – This lightweight formula smoothes and refines hair while taming frizz and providing subtle hold. It offers protection from heat, leaving hair with a soft, satin finish. It is free of parabens, gluten, and is vegan friendly. Argan and jojoba oils smoothe the hair while building body. Bamboo, Green Tea, and Sunflower extracts provide antioxidants, strengthen hair, prevent breakage and protect against heat styling.
If you’re looking to get that Beyonce wavy lob look, this is the product to do it. It has a light hold and will define your curls perfectly. It will also kept all the frizz and static at bay. I just put a small nickel-sized amount in my damp hair, scrunched and let air dry. Waves for days!
GHOST OIL – Ghost oil is a weightless blend of argan + moringa oils. It’s a vanishing daily restorative that revitalizes and repairs the hair. The integrated blend of oils enriches the hair shaft with essential nutrients that naturally smooth frizz and promote radiant shine for all hair types.
This is some magic oil right here. With only 2 small pumps, this changes my hair from dull and frizzy to shiny and tame without leaving an oily residue. It literally just vanishes… like a ghost! No real scent to this one, I detected maybe a slight white floral but very faint.
More good news: These products are only $14 USD each. Salon-quality and made by and for professionals. It’s a pretty damn good price.
