Alba Botanica Sunscreens are cruelty-free and sulfate-free!

Alba Botanica wants you to “take a permanent vacation from harsh sulfates and common chemicals” with their line of sunscreens! I’ve been using this brand for years (they have great natural shave creams) and I was so excited when this little care package arrived at my door. The sun is coming, people!

Alba Botanica Facial Sunscreen Lotion Spray SPF 40 review

This line of non-mineral sunscreen has five different products for your whole family. The first one I tried, the Facial Sunscreen Lotion, was soft and soothing on my skin. It absorbed fast and didn’t have that thick, ultra-creamy texture that most sunscreens have. The scent was pleasant, not overly beach, and it played well with my foundation.

It’s SPF 40 too, more than my regular everyday face cream! Plus there’s lavendar, aloe, gingko biloba and calendula mixed in to leave skin feeling smooth and hydrated.

Alba Botanica Sport Sunscreen Lotion Spray SPF 40 review

Next up, the Sport series. Like all sunscreens from Alba Botanica, these are free from oxybenzone, PABA and parabens. There are also no sulfates, no chemicals, no synthetic colours. This has the same very, very light scent as the facial sunscreen and, in fact, the ingredient list is identical… so… it’s the same or maybe has different concentrations of the ingredients? Either way, I love that all of these are water resistant up to 80 minutes. And a spray bottle format, hello perfect for the beach!

Alba Botanica Kids Sunscreen Lotion SPF 40 review

Next up, the Kids line (not pictured is the cream format). Made for active kids, it’s sweatproof and water resistant. And… the list of ingredients is identical to the other versions. So, essentially I think these are all the same?

Don’t get me wrong, I really love the formula! No white cast, no ultra-greasy mess. I just can’t tell the difference between each.
