Clarins Hydra-Essentiel is the new Hydraquench!

Clarins Hydra-Essentiel is the new Hydraquench!

I confessed my love for Clarins HydraQuench almost 3 years ago. And since then, I have repurchased almost everything from the line more than a few times. I was a little worried when I heard Clarins was phasing out HydraQuench and replacing with the new Hydra-Essentiel line, but I’m here to tell you…. fear not! This new line replaces HydraQuench in every way and is even a slight improvement.

Clarins Hydra Essential Bi Phase Serum review

The first new and improved product is the Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum. Like the original, this is suitable for ALL skin types. This plant-based serum helps hydrate, plump up the skin and eliminate redness. The serum is my secret weapon in the winter because it makes my skin feel baby soft and really gives me a rejuvenated look.

Here are two pumps of the serum, about all you need for the whole face. You just shake the bottle, pump in your hands to warm up and pat on the skin. Is this an improvement on the HydraQuench formula? I actually think it may be. I put this on at night and woke up with soft, plump and dewy skin.

Clarins Hydra Essential Silky Cream review

Now the real test was the new Hydra-Essential Silky Cream, comparable to the HydraQuench Cream for normal to dry skin. This has the same scent (sort of apple meets floral) only I find the new Hydra-Essentiel scent is a bit more green/floral. Does it work the same? Yes indeed it does! This leaves skin insanely hydrated and fresh. It may even be marginally better than the original. I’ve had a lot of peeling skin lately (due to some strong retinol products I’ve been testing) and this cream has helped a great deal.

So what do you think? Are you excited to try the new Clarins Hydra-Essential? And don’t worry, there is still a gel-cream and rich cream but I can’t seem to find a replacement for the HydraQuench mask (although it has not been de-listed yet!)
