HOLIDAY 2016 TOP PICKS: Skincare Stars & Gift Sets

HOLIDAY 2016 TOP PICKS: Skincare Stars & Gift Sets

And I’m back with another round-up of holiday gift ideas that have my stamp of approval. This time, we’re going through skincare! I’ve tested all of these at least a few times, and in some cases I’ve even re-purchased.

Skincare holiday 2016 gift sets review Ole Henriksen Powerbright

Ole Henriksen POWER Bright™ 3-step Professional Brightening System ($66 CAD)
This works well on all skin types (except sensitive) and gives your skin an amazing glow. The secret is in the 25% Vitamin C (stable ascorbic acid) that helps tighten, exfoliate and add life back into your skin. And it comes in convenient “sets” of pre-measured cleanser, mask and concentrate!
– 6 x 0.14 oz Facial Mask
– 6 x 0.11 oz Facial Mask Concentrate
– 6 x 0.11 oz Facial Cleanser
– 2 x Complexion sponges

Skincare holiday 2016 gift sets review Tatcha

Tatcha Bestsellers Set ($72 CAD)
Perfect for harsh cold weather and ALL skin types. This set will purify, polish and nourish your face during these hectic and busy weeks. I’m already addicted to the Camellia Cleansing Oil (made with camellia and rice bran oils). I also use the rice powder to exfoliate a couple times a week and the skin mist almost every day at work! If you know someone who is looking to try some luxe and high-end skincare, this is a perfect gift.
– 0.8 oz/ 25 mL Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
– 0.35 oz/ 10 g Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder
– 0.34 oz/ 10 mL Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream
– 0.4 oz/ 12 mL Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

Skincare holiday 2016 gift sets review Clarins Hydraquench

Clarins Hydraquench Collection ($50 CAD).
I actually saved up my Optimum points just for a Clarins Hydraquench set. I have been using Hydraquench cream for years, and the price I would pay for the cream is the same as this set. So basically you get the mask, serum and makeup bag free!

Skincare holiday 2016 gift sets review Pixi Beauty Glow

If you’re not sure where to start, these are my three fave skincare products from Pixi Beauty (and the brand is coming back to Canada soon!)
This trio is perfect for skin on the oilier side. Start with the Glow Mud Cleanser to exfoliate and detoxify with 5% glycolic acid while hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and avocado oil keep skin fresh and hydrated. Next up, the iconic Exfoliating Glow Tonic toner which is formulated with aloe vera, ginseng and more glycolic acid. You’ve probably seen this on many, many blogs. And the final step is the Glow Mud Mask made with kaolin and sea salt that clears out skin while ginseng and aloe vera balance it.

Check out the Pixi Beauty Best of Bright gift set for mini versions of all three of these!

Skincare holiday 2016 gift sets review Deciem The Ordinary

When Deciem introduced their new line, The Ordinary, I was in shock. These are pure, high-grade ingredients at insanely low prices. I grabbed the “for general signs of age” set for a little less than $50 CAD, and I’ll be real with you… I’ve been carded when buying alcohol at least three times in the past week. I can’t say for sure if it’s these little bottles of joy that made people think I was under 25, but I really think it is.
Looking to create a personalized routine? Check the Deciem skincare regimen guide.

I know I’d be happy to find any of these skincare gifts under the tree or stuffed in my stocking. Do you know anyone who is skincare obsessed like I am?
