MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipsticks: No Faux Pas, Salon Rouge, Sparks of Romance, Tribalist

MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipsticks: No Faux Pas, Salon Rouge, Sparks of Romance, Tribalist

The holiday collection from MAC Cosmetics hit stores tomorrow, and if you’ve been on the fence about buying the Heirloom Mix lipsticks… maybe this will help you decide (*enabler alert*).

MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipstick packaging
The Heirloom Mix packaging is simple, elegant and breathtaking. It is a sleek black patent tube with silver glitter. And this is not just stick-on glitter, this is mixed right into the plastic.

This release has 5 shades in total (3 new, 1 repromote, 1 permanent – which I did not buy in this packaging)

MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipstick No Faux Pas
NO FAUX PAS is a hot pink matte. Think Pleasure Bomb meets Moxie.

It has quite a bright, bold blue tone to it, is more of a satin matte and stains the heck out of your lips. (but it is gorgeous so I’ll allow it)

Wear time is really quite long, mostly because it is a hydrating matte that stains. I love this shade!

MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipstick Salon Rouge
SALON ROUGE is a clean berry red matte. Very similar shades include Roxo.

Again, another satin-matte, the shine subsides after 10-15 min wear, but it isn’t a true matte like the Retro Matte formula.

This is a really nice red, bordering on oxblood but not quite as deep. Definitely dupeable but still gorgeous.

MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipstick Sparks of Romance
SPARKS OF ROMANCE is a true red matte frost (and I honestly can’t think of any other MAC lipsticks in this finish)

The added frost is a subtle sparkle really (like a cross between frost and a dazzle lipstick). Fairly close in shade to Damn Glamorous.

Although the frost element is hard to see from far away, it gives this lipstick a +1 above all the other reds I have.

MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipstick Tribalist
TRIBALIST is a deep purple berry amplified creme. This is a repromote made famous in the 2009 Style Warrior collection.

The formula isn’t totally opaque and does slip quite a bit making it hard to even out, but I really do love the shade.

Perfect dark berry lips for fall!

MAC Cosmetics Heirloom Mix lipstick Rebel
T
he final shade in the collection is a permanent one, Rebel. If you have been following my MAC Monday series, you probably already saw my review of this 2 weeks ago.
