The MAC Cosmetics Pedro Lourenco collection hits stores this Thursday,…
One of my new favourite contour kits comes from a brand you may have never heard of, Niki Garret Cosmetics. This Canadian brand has just entered the market, selling on Amazon and online through their own site. And although their product line is currently very small, they have big plans.
I am really of the mind that you should focus on doing one thing really well instead of a few things kinda… meh. And Niki Garret Cosmetics has done that. This Contour and Highlight Duo (shown here in shade Medium) is so damn good.
The formula of both of these powders is buttery, creamy and smooth. There is no powdery, chalky mess and they swatch so beautifully. Even though this is in Medium, I can totally pull it off on my fair skin. The highlight powder is one of my favourites; it has a beautiful champagne gold shimmer that reminds me of Becca Champagne Pop.
This Contour and Highlight 3 Piece Pro Brush Set has made it into my daily rotation of brushes. These are synthetic, and therefore cruelty-free, and some of the softest brushes I have ever used.
Shown here for size reference. These don’t have very long handles at all, but they are weighty.
Pro Contour Brush F10 has a flat head made specifically for contouring the hollows of your cheekbones.
Pro Multipurpose Contour Brush F15 is a mini fan brush that I use to apply highlight but also works to apply contour powder around your forehead OR if you want a less chiseled contour.
Pro Highlighter Brush F20 has a round shape that works well for blush or highlight.
I used all three brushes for this and was able to get a nice precise contour with some great blending.
And as you can see, the medium shade actually works on me. The highlight is a tiny bit too dark IRL but totally manageable.
